WOW! I couldn't believe my eyes! Millions of tonnes of Jasper at the surface! This gold district, according to early geology reports, didn't have much gold. But who cares? I found extensive seams of Jasper with cobbles and boulders of Jade, Jade pseudomorphs after Quartz, Rubies, Sapphires, Agates, and Pyrite - what a fun place in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. And, since the Granite Mountains north of Jeffrey City are part of a Craton - might there be diamonds in this area?
